You can create a backup of your current Simarine PICO settings on your phone using the Simarine App on your phone or tablet. This can be helpful in the event that you make accidental changes to your settings or if you need to perform a factory reset on your Simarine PICO. The following guide will walk you through how to save and restore settings.
Before doing so, please visit your App store (Android or Apple) and ensure you have the latest version of the Simarine App.
Save settings
To create a backup of your Simarine PICO settings, please follow the steps below: -
STEP 1: Connect your phone to your Simarine PICO via Wi-Fi. If you are not sure how to do that, click here.
STEP 2: Open the Settings by clicking on the icon in the top left corner in your Simarine App and select "Device Settings"
STEP 3: Select "Save backup". Create a name for your settings and tap OK. Your settings have now been saved.
Restore settings
To restore a backup of your settings to your Simarine PICO, please follow the steps below: -
STEP 1: Connect your phone to your Simarine PICO via Wi-Fi and launch the Simarine App. If you are not sure how to do that, click here.
STEP 2: Open the Settings by clicking on the icon in the top left corner in your Simarine App and select "Device Settings"
STEP 3: Select "Restore backup".
A list of saved settings will appear, together with a date and time when these settings were saved. Select the desired backup file and tap "RESTORE".You will be prompted to confirm your action. After pressing "RESTORE" once again, wait a few seconds for your settings to restore.
In the event that you did not make a backup file and you have lost your settings, it is still worth checking to see if there is a file saved you can use to restore. The Simarine App creates automatic backups when you modify settings and so you might have a usable backup file already saved.
Please note that if any of the Simarine PICO's physical configuration has changed (e.g. you added or removed shunts from the system), then you will not be able to restore the settings from the backup file.
