How do I back up and restore my Simarine PICO settings?

Using the Simarine smartphone app, you can create a backup of your current Simarine PICO settings on your phone. This can be helpful in the event that you make accidental changes to your settings or if you need to perform a factory reset on your Simarine PICO. The following guide will walk you through how to save and restore settings to your phone.

Save settings

To create a backup of your Simarine PICO settings, please take following steps:

STEP 1: Ensure you have the latest version of the Simarine App on your smartphone and connect to your Simarine PICO via Wi-Fi. 
STEP 2: Open the Settings in your Simarine App and choose SAVE/RESTORE SETTINGS > SAVE CURRENT SETTINGS
STEP 3: Create a name for your settings and tap OK.  Your settings have now been saved

Restore settings

To restore a backup of your settings to your Simarine PICO, please take the following steps:

STEP 1: Connect your phone to the Simarine PICO via Wi-Fi and launch the Simarine App.
STEP 2: Open the Settings in your Simarine App and choose SAVE/RESTORE SETTINGS > RESTORE SETTINGS.
STEP 3: A list of saved settings will appear, together with a date and time when these settings were saved. Select the desired backup file and tap "RESTORE". You will be prompted to confirm your action. After pressing RESTORE once again, wait a few seconds for your settings to restore.

In the event that you did not make a backup file and lost your settings, it is still worth checking to see if there is a file you can restore. The Simarine App will create automatic backups when you modify settings and might have usable backup file.

Please note that if any of the Simarine PICO's physical configuration has changed (e.g. you added or removed shunts from the system), then you will not be able to restore the settings from the backup file.
