🔍 Possible causes & Checks
1. Blown Fuse or Breaker
- Check all inline fuses or circuit breakers between:
- House battery → charger
- Solar panel → charger
- Charger → start battery
- A blown fuse can allow voltage to pass but block current.
2. Loose or Corroded Connections
- Inspect all terminals and connectors for corrosion, looseness, or damage.
- Even slight corrosion can cause high resistance, blocking current flow.
3. Battery Management System (BMS) Lockout
- If you are using Enerdrive lithium batteries, the BMS may have entered protection mode (e.g., due to over-discharge or temperature).
- Check the BMS status via the BTEC app (if available).
4. Solar Regulator or MPPT Fault
- If the solar input shows voltage but no amps, the MPPT controller may be:
- In standby mode
- Faulted
- Not seeing a load (e.g., battery full or disconnected)
5. DC-DC Charger Mode or Settings
- Some Enerdrive DC-DC chargers have auto-sensing or manual input selection.
- Check if the charger is in the correct mode (e.g., alternator vs solar).
- A firmware glitch or reset may have changed settings.
6. Battery Full or Not Accepting Charge
- If the receiving battery is full or has high internal resistance, it may not draw current.
- Try temporarily connecting a known discharged battery to test.
🧪 Suggested Steps to Diagnose
- Measure voltage and current at each input/output using a multimeter.
- Disconnect solar and house battery inputs, then reconnect one at a time to see if current resumes.
- Check charger LED indicators or display (if applicable) for fault codes or status.
- Perform a soft reset: disconnect all inputs and outputs for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect.
- Ensure: the house /auxiliary battery is drained enough so that it can take a charge.
- Please: take a short video of the DC2DC charger's display showing the voltage and then the amps value, and then quick-press the Menu button once so that it shows the CH2 and the CH3 voltage values. Do this when you think it should be charging from the vehicle, i.e. when the CH3 symbol stays on and when you think it should be charging from solar, i.e. when the CH2 symbol stays on (i.e. 2 short videos)
