The ePRO+ offers four independent configurable alarms and one programmable alarm relay contact to control external equipment. The four alarms can be programmed to trigger on completely different alarm types (e.g. low voltage, low state of charge, low time remaining), or multiple alarms can be assigned to same alarm type at different values (e.g. warning light at 50% state of charge, audible alarm at 20% state of charge).
The single internal alarm contact can be set as normally open or normally closed, and can be programmed to trigger under any alarm condition of your choosing. Many of the Enerdrive eSystems utilise the alarm contact to cut unnecessary loads when the state of charge drops too low. For more information on how to do this, click here. More alarm contacts can also be added to the ePRO Plus through the use of the optional Alarm Output Expander.
Alarm Settings Menu
The Alarm Settings of the ePRO+ can be accessed by holding the menu button for 3 seconds, pressing the right arrow until the display reads setup, then pressing menu again (see the image below).
The settings for Alarm 1 are located in section 5.0-5.7. The table below provides a brief explanation of the different settings.
| Function | Setting | Description |
| 5.0 | Alarm 1 Type | Allows you to choose the condition that triggers the alarm (low voltage, low state of charge, etc) |
| 5.1 | Alarm 1 On Value | Activates alarm when the parameter has reached this value |
| 5.2 | Alarm 1 Off Value | Deactivates alarm when the parameter has reached this value |
| 5.3 | Alarm 1 On Delay | The amount of time the Alarm 1 On Value needs to be true before the alarm activates |
| 5.4 | Alarm 1 Off Delay | The amount of time the Alarm 1 Off Value needs to be true before the alarm deactivates |
| 5.5 | Warning | Allows you to select between no warning, visual only, and visual plus audible warning when your alarm triggers |
| 5.7 | Alarm Contact | Allows you to trigger alarm contacts. If you using the alarm contact built in to the ePRO Plus, select "INT" |
Alarms 2, 3, and 4 can be configured in F 6.0-6.7, F 7.0-7.7, and F 8.0-8.7 respectively.
The polarity of the internal alarm contact is set to normally open by default, but this can be changed by navigating to Function 10.2 in the setup menu.
