If you find that your ePRO+ state of charge and time remaining readouts are inaccurate, please work your way through the following list to isolate the problem.
The shunt is being bypassed
In order for the ePRO+ to accurately display the state of charge or time remaining, it must be able to see all current flowing through the system. It is important to ensure that all of the devices in your system are attached to the "SYSTEM" side of the shunt and that the "BATTERY" side of the shunt has only the battery connected to it. For more information on how to connect devices to your ePRO+, click here.
The shunt is installed in reverse
If the "BATTERY" and "SYSTEM" side of the shunt have been connected in reverse, then your ePRO+ will mistake charge for loads and vice versa. Mixing up charge and discharge will cause your ePRO+ to calculate the state of charge and time remaining incorrectly, providing you with an inaccurate reading. For more information on reversing the polarity of your ePRO+, click here.
The ePRO+ is programmed incorrectly
If the parameters have been entered into your ePRO+ incorrectly, then it will be unable to correctly calculate your battery's state of charge. Double check that the settings on your ePRO+ match the specifications listed on the side of your battery or in your battery owner's manual. More information on how to program your ePRO+ can be found here.
Your ePRO+ hasn't synced with your battery yet
You have to complete a full charge cycle with your ePRO+ connected to your battery in order for it to determine you state of charge. For more information on syncing your ePRO+, click here.
