What is a Pure or True Sine Wave and why does it matter?

All ENERDRIVE | DOMETIC inverters are Pure/True Sine Wave Inverters. This means that the AC power that is produced by an ENERDRIVE | DOMETIC inverter has the same type of wave form that you would receive from the electrical grid and that there should be no compatibility issues with any appliances you wish to run as long as their power draw is less than the output capacity of the inverter.

Older and cheaper models of inverters typically produce either modified sine wave or square wave AC power. These wave forms can be problematic when trying to run sensitive electronic equipment and may cause appliances to not operate correctly or to not function at all. For example, modified sine wave inverters have been known to cause fuzzy lines across a TV screen, humming through speakers, and can cause permanent damage to a laptop battery pack
