B-TEC and eLITE batteries must be installed vertically in a dry environment.
Enerdrive B-TEC and e-LITE batteries should not be mounted in a wet area, which can lead to moisture ingress and the failure of internal components. Because Enerdrive batteries cannot be mounted in a wet area, they should not be mounted in:
- the open tray of a ute or 4WD
- an under bonnet application
- an unsealed under tray battery carrier
- the open deck or wet area of a marine application
The plastic-cased batteries cannot be mounted on their side, end, or upside down. Most Enerdrive B-TEC batteries include a battery tray and strap for easy installation. Batteries should always be mounted with the terminals in an upright position, as seen in the image below. For further clarification, refer to the product manual of your battery.
Your B-TEC or eLITE battery should be mounted as close as possible to your battery chargers and inverter. This will increase the efficiency of your devices and reduce the risk of voltage drop. If you place your batteries further away from your chargers and inverter, you will need to install larger diameter cable. More information on minimum cable lengths and widths can be found here.
For more information regarding B-TEC installation, please check out our B-TEC video series here.
2023 Standards Update: With some confusion regarding the up coming standards changes and how they will effect battery fitments for future builds including upgrades to existing builds, ENERDRIVE | DOMETIC have created a fitment guide. This guide is specific to our e-LITE and B-TEC range of batteries and has been designed to cover all portions of the battery installation requirements within the new standard. Please note this guide is specific to Enerdrive batteries and does not apply to any other manufacturer.
